Our new web page is live!
The ADV player has been renamed to DVTI Video Tools and is available as new version 1.2.2 on the support page. In addition, a first preview of this tool for Linux is available with a limited set of features as version 0.9.2. In the coming weeks, we will add the missing features to the Linux version.
A new beta version 0.8.1 of the ADV player is available in the support section. Various image controls from the DVTI+CAM control software such as the histogram, image scaling and crosshairs are now available in the software. In addition, it supports adding graphical and textual markers which can optionally be linked to a star tracker.
Good news! The DVTI+CAM 430 is now available for customers in the USA. To celebrate this, there's a special offer (10% off) until end of January. Fill out and send us the order form in the shop section to benefit from this offer! We have also updated the English user manual.
The user manual is now available in English and German. Check out the support section to download the user manual in PDF format.
New camera firmware and control software versions are available for downloading in the support section. The new firmware includes a high-resolution mode with 0.1ms time resolution, a high-speed mode on a reduced ROI (1000fps on the DVTI+CAM 430, 500fps on the DVTI+CAM 174) as well as various smaller improvements and bug fixes.
The star Betelgeuse which will be occulted by the minor planet (319) Leona on the night of December 11-12 is very bright. The next version 1.2.0 of the camera firmware therefore contains a new high-speed mode that can capture an image field of 352 x 256 pixels at 1000 frames per second for the DVTI+CAM 430 and 500 frames per second for the DVTI+CAM 174. With the new mode, other interesting videos are of course also possible, here for example water hitting an eyepiece cover.
The major update 1.1.0 of the camera firmware adds many new features including a fast mode with up to 250 frames per second, 4x4 binning, on-chip binning (DVTI+CAM 430 only) and more. In addition, the new version 5.7.0 of the camera control software includes better support for filling the SODIS report, performance improvements and more. For details, please see the release notes in the support section.
JOA 2023-3 includes an article about the DVTI+CAM (sensitivity measurements), see JOA 2023-3
